Sha'Anna Williams

Founder & Artistic Director

Sha’Anna “ Miss Shay” Williams is an award-winning choreographer, artistic director and owner of X-Quisite House of Dance, located in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Miss Shay was born and raised in Boston, MA where she began her hip hop dance training at the age of 9 with Urban Connections Dance Company. At the age of 14 she began her training at Boston Ballet and she became a member of Lady Quo (the female counterpart to MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew finalist from “season 1”: Status Quo) where she really began to hone in on her passion for dance and love for choreography. In 2010 Miss Shay moved to New Jersey to attend Montclair State University where she studied and graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Arts for Dance and Sociology. Miss Shay apprenticed with the company The Dance Cartel and was a member of Brukwine Gyals and The Bachanalists; both NYC based reggae and soca dance companies. She has toured and been a back up dancer for up and coming artist like J-Line, has been apart of many commercial dance projects, music videos, and flash mobs. While in college Miss Shay also became the founder/director/choreography of the all female dance crew X-Quisite; later known as Ladies of X-Quisite. In 2018 she furthered this company and founded a kids hip hop and training company where kids can grow as artist and compete at competitions, and in 2020 she officially opened her dance studio: X-Quisite House of Dance which now offers all dance styles for ages 3 to adult. Her studio is home to kids who are signed with national talent agencies, have been featured in national commercials, danced for the Queen of Christmas: Mariah Carey, dance for the NBA, and so much. Miss Shay has also choreographed award winning pieces, and her studio is 2 time National Champions. As a teacher, Miss Shay believes one must remain current. She prides herself in growing as an instructor by constantly auditioning, taking class, training, and performing. Her training consists of hip hop, ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, reggae/soca, jazz funk, and commercial dance/ heels. Most recently she was featured on America’s Got Talent with Phil Wright and the Parent Jam. The dance world is constantly evolving, and the more she grows and expands as a teacher and artist; the more she can pass down to her students.
